Third Parties
Her name is abandonment.
His name is jealousy.
Their name is grief.
The list goes on and on:
Depression.
Miscommunication.
Disconnection.
Distrust.
Money. Or a lack of it.
Parental patterns.
Childhood trauma.
Medical trauma.
Insecurity.
Immaturity.
Selfishness.
Lying.
Stealing.
Lack of change.
No accountability.
Not centering the family.
Growing apart instead of together.
Sometimes, the third parties aren’t other humans.
Sometimes those third parties are things inside of ourselves.
Things we don’t see until it’s too late.
It’s always easier to blame the other person.
But what if there was no one to blame?
Blaming soothes the ego.
I asked that once.
How do you get to a place of not blaming people?
You know how you don’t blame people?
You learn.
You heal.
You grow up.
You change.
And you make different choices.
Third parties can be big or small but the destruction they leave cleaves it all.
